Antarctic Map Folio Series · Version 1
1964The editors describe the linked folio only as part of the 19-folio Antarctic Map Folio Series, whose installments contain text, extensive references, color maps, and drawings in 11-by-17-inch cases. They report that remaining publications were being sold at reduced prices, with some folios already out of print and others available only in limited quantities; the items would not be reprinted, though microform copies were being planned. The article does not specify the individual availability or contents of Aeronomical Maps for the Antarctic.

This article reports that in 1980, the National Science Foundation received the remaining inventory of polar reference materials published by the American Geographical Society between 1964 and 1975, including the Antarctic Map Folio Series (19 folios covering topics such as tropospheric climatology, glaciers, marine life, birds, and mammals), 1:5,000,000-scale topographic maps of the Arctic and Antarctic, and the book Americans in Antarctica, 1775–1948, all available at reduced prices. Additionally, the Canadian Hydrographic Service published in 1980 a general bathymetric chart of the oceans surrounding Antarctica (scale 1:6,000,000, south of 60°S), compiled from multinational data under the scientific coordination of G. L. Johnson and Jean-Rene Vanney, priced at Can$5. Furthermore, Problems of the Arctic and the Antarctic, Volume 48 (1976), edited by A. F. Treshnikov, has been translated into English, containing 21 papers on hydrometeorological regimes, ionospheric radio wave absorption, and arctic magnetic activity during magnetospheric storms. All publications are obtainable through designated distributors.
