In her account of the Institute's atlas projects, Željka Richter describes A Concise Atlas of the Republic of Croatia & of the Republic of Bosnia and Hercegovina as an English-language publication completed and printed in 1993 for foreign readers. She reports that Institute staff and specialists from several fields contributed to its seven chapters, combining geographic, demographic and economic information with a historical chronology and thematic maps. Its principal map block contains eleven double-page topographic maps at 1:500,000 and six maps of macroregional centres in Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina at 1:200,000. The thematic maps cover Croatia, with exceptions for diaspora, history and Croatian dialects; accompanying material includes explanatory text, general data, history, state organization, statistics and a map index.
