Antarctic Map Folio Series

Vivian C. Bushnell reports that work continued in 1973–1974 on the American Geographical Society's Antarctic Map Folio Series, with Folios 18 and 19 scheduled for publication in late 1974 and late 1975, respectively. Folio 18, “Antarctic Mammals,” uses maps and texts to summarize the geographic distribution, biology, and physical characteristics of whales, seals, and dolphins in Antarctic waters. It includes recent systematic seal population data and an extensive research bibliography. Its authors are N. A. Mackintosh, S. G. Brown, A. W. Erickson, R. J. Hofman, and R. L. Brownell, Jr., with a foreword by George A. Llano.
