Sahagún Luis presents “Population, Human Settlements and Society,” scheduled for publication in October 2024 by the National Atlas of Spain service. It develops Section IV of Spain in Maps: A Geographical Synthesis, called Spain on Maps. A Geographic Synopsis in the article and described there as published in 2018. The atlas’s nine sections are to become separate books; this book follows Section III, “History.” Prepared with university scholars in the RedANEXXI network, it combines demographic data analysis, thematic mapping, multidisciplinary geographic information and GIS. Its updated treatment of society includes care, households, poverty and social vulnerability, while migration receives new visual representations. The author presents the book as a contribution to academic cartography, intended for teaching, scientific dissemination, statistical studies for national bodies and continued updating of the National Atlas. Maps, graphs and accessible texts address universities, public administrations and general readers.
