The National Atlas of Sweden (Atlas över Sverige), published by the Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography, was issued in 75 fascicles between 1953 and 1971, each measuring 34×43 cm. This atlas stands out as a significant geographical event due to its original conception, cartographic perfection, and the extensive resources employed. Each fascicle typically centers on a double-page map at 1:2,000,000 scale, accompanied by several pages (sometimes up to ten) of commentary. This article aims to present the publication's significance, highlighting its exemplary role in the development of regional and national atlases.
