Summary

The second edition of the Geographic Atlas of Ecuador integrates data from 50 public institutions on national planning, territorial organization, political-administrative divisions, and Ecuadorians’ social and economic life. Its 356 pages, organized into eight chapters, contain 406 maps and more than 300 graphics covering demographics, living conditions, the economy, natural resources, environmental hazards, infrastructure, culture, and the international context. Presented at the Military Geographic Institute, the Atlas is intended to support education, public-policy development, and national planning; it is available online free of charge, with 3,000 copies to be distributed to libraries and schools.
