The article reports the public presentation of the second edition of the Atlas Geográfico del Ecuador at the Military Geographic Institute. It says the atlas draws on information from 50 public institutions, runs to 356 sheets in eight chapters, and contains 406 maps and more than 300 graphics on topics including planning, territorial organization, political-administrative divisions, demographics, social conditions, economy, environment, natural resources, infrastructure, culture and international context. Senplades and the Ministry of Defense organized the presentation; 3,000 copies and CDs are to be distributed to libraries and schools. Planning secretary Pabel Muñoz described the atlas as supporting consultation, planning and public-policy decisions, and Education Minister Augusto Espinosa pledged support for its use in schools.
