Chinese National Atlas

The first three volumes of the planned five-volume Chinese National Atlas have been published, covering Taiwan, Tibet, Sinkiang, Mongolia, and North China, with Volumes IV (South China) and V (general maps) expected by October 1962. Edited by Dr. Chi-yun Chang of the Institute of Geography in Taipei, the atlas provides bilingual place names in Chinese and English. U.S. inquiries may be directed to Dr. Jen-hu Chang in Hawaii. Following completion, the institute will focus on a Southeast Asian atlas and research on water resources, agricultural planning, China's resources, Oriental urbanization, and Southeast Asia's economic potential.
