Seppo Eurola and Ahti Mäkinen praise National Atlas of Norway: Vegetation as an achievement of Moen and his colleagues, admiring its detail in depicting a country with varied natural conditions and recommending it as suitable for a textbook. They note that it follows the size and style of the Swedish National Atlas volume Växter och djur, while judging it more splendid. In their view, producing a comparable Finnish work would require combining Atlas of Finland booklets 141–143, Living Nature, Nature Conservation and Diversity of Finnish Nature.
