Besprechungen: Atlas över Sverige

This review discusses the release of parts 6 and 7 of the Atlas of Sweden (Atlas över Sverige), edited by the Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography, published in Stockholm from 1953 onward. The review highlights: pages 19-20 present the maximum glaciation of the Northern Hemisphere, the Würm-Weichsel glaciation in Europe with tundra, steppe, and forest zones, and five stages of ice retreat in Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea area; pages 21-22 detail the main ice divide, ice-margin positions, and end moraines in Sweden, with thousands of small lines indicating glacial striae directions; pages 41-42 show the distribution of mires through fine brown dots and patches, listing 390 named mires, accompanied by distribution maps, profiles, photos, and pollen diagrams; pages 73-80 are devoted to agriculture, including maps of winter and summer wheat and rye production and consumption, surplus and deficit areas, the share of various cereals in total cultivated area, and hectare yields. The review praises the atlas's high-quality cartography and detailed content as a valuable reference for regional geography.
