Reviews: Atlas of spatial development. Installments 6 and 7: Leisure and land use

This review describes fascicles 6 and 7 of Atlas zur Raumentwicklung (1976). Fascicle 6 maps tourism, accommodation capacity and occupancy, and cultural and sporting facilities. The reviewer notes that district-level aggregation allows high occupancy on the Frisian Islands to raise the mapped classes of inland areas, and highlights the surprisingly large share and long duration of private accommodation. Fascicle 7 covers population density, land use, agricultural production, farmland abandonment associated with rural socioeconomic change, fragmented landownership, building-land prices, and selected maps of European Community countries.
