Compte-Rendu: L'Autriche, à travers l'ÖROK-Atlas

Summary

This article introduces the fifth edition of the Atlas of Spatial Development in Austria (ÖROK-Atlas), published by the Austrian Conference on Spatial Planning. The current edition comprises 95 map sheets, with 8 new ones added in 1987. The maps are presented in a landscape format of 297×630 mm, with most at a scale of 1:1,000,000. They feature vivid colors and are accompanied by excellent explanatory texts and statistical data tables. The themes covered include population change, labor and employment, industry, housing, commerce, water management, and natural environments, with particular attention given to maps on nature protection regulations and housing. Although still incomplete, this collection already constitutes a highly valuable and recent documentary source on Austria, deserving our full attention.
