The Thai account records that the Royal Thai Survey Department published the second edition of the National Resources Atlas of Thailand in 1969. Its 17 map sheets were organized for the first time into three sections: Physical resources (9 sheets and 18 text pages), Human resources (2 sheets and 2 text pages), and Social and economic infrastructure (6 sheets and 16 text pages). The format was enlarged to 54 × 77.5 cm so that a map of Thailand at 1:2,500,000 could fit on an unfolded page. The atlas was presented at the Sixth United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for Asia and the Far East in Tehran in 1970.
