David N. Siriba; Daniel O. Nyangweso · 2022
Siriba and Nyangweso identify the 2003 National Atlas of Kenya as the fifth and, at the time of writing, latest edition, with 245 pages arranged in 21 chapters covering physical geography, resources, population, the economy, public services and governance. They note that it remained unrevised despite two subsequent population censuses and a policy of updating the atlas every ten years to incorporate census data. They attribute the delay in part to digital mapping technology enabling other government departments to publish thematic atlases.
