Reports of ICA commissions: National and Regional Atlases

Summary

The commission launched a new website hosted at the University of Vienna, listing members, meetings and agenda and linking to atlases, though the atlas-link section remains sparse and contributions are sought. At a joint meeting with UNGEGN's Working Group on Exonyms in Timişoara, 9–13 September 2008, 48 participants from 18 countries discussed exonym use and a handbook for atlas editors; workshops produced a ten-chapter structure, with authors identified for most chapters. A follow-up meeting was planned for Algiers, 8–9 October 2009.
