Reports of ICA Commissions: Atlases

Summary

This December 2012 ICA newsletter section surveys commission meetings, workshops, publications, and plans across map projections, remote sensing, accessible and mountain cartography, web and open-source mapping, user studies, and toponymy. Reports record 2012 events in Bulgaria, Chile, China, New Zealand, Austria, and the United States; outputs included conference proceedings, training materials, laboratories, and a forthcoming tactile-cartography book. Proposed work included a practical projection guide, 2013 joint workshops, mountain-workshop proceedings, and preparations for International Map Year 2015.
