Summary
The review describes the first edition of the Atlas of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, published in 1966 by the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and the Central Administration of Geodesy and Cartography, and prepared and printed by KRÚ in Prague. Its 58 map sheets contain 434 maps, cartograms and diagrams in five main sections covering nature, population, industry, agriculture and transport, with concluding coverage of trade, culture and living standards. The reviewer ranks it among the largest national atlases by its quantity of material and thematic breadth, and praises it as an exceptionally rich source of information about the country's nature and life and as a representative work.
