Summary

At its first meeting in Madrid, 10–13 October 1977, the IGU/ICA Joint Working Group on Environmental Atlases established its future scope and links with related bodies, determined principal conclusions, and discussed an initial set of regional atlases. Chaired by F. Vazquez-Maure, it planned its next meeting for London on 24–26 April 1978; the document also records Eila M. J. Campbell’s appointment as chair of the UK Cartography Sub-Committee.
