Commission on National Atlases

Summary

The Commission scheduled a meeting in Stockholm for 11–15 March 1989 to prepare a technical report for the 14th International Cartographic Conference, covering national atlas production, technical systems and electronic or interactive atlases. The Inventory of World Topographic Mapping was organized as three planned volumes for publication between late 1988 and the end of 1990. Country entries compiled mapping-agency details, geodetic data, map series, references, monochrome map extracts and coverage index sheets, while generally excluding hydrographic, aeronautical and separate military editions.
