Summary

K. Salichtchev’s report reviews the IGU commission’s 1964–68 work after its remit expanded from national atlases to complex regional and major-city atlases. It records publication of the 1964 regional-atlas monograph and the 1968 volume on social and economic maps; a practical natural-resources atlas guide was submitted to UNESCO in December 1967, approved, and awaiting publication. Thematic map groups made uneven progress, while recommendations, research, atlas exhibits, bibliography, reviews, indexes, and legend standardization were continuing or planned for New Delhi.
