Commission des Atlas nationaux

Summary

At its Budapest plenary meeting, 7–11 September 1962, the Commission reviewed national and regional atlas work from numerous countries, six commissioned studies, and an exhibition covering nearly 50 countries. It approved its activity report and proposed common atlas plans, legends, statistical treatment, explanatory notes, international exchanges, periodic updating, and support for regional atlases and developing countries. Working groups were established for population maps, critical atlas reviews, commentaries, industrial statistics and maps, and a minimum programme for developing countries.
