This article reviews Romer's 'Geographical-Statistical Atlas of Poland' (1916-1917). The atlas aims to depict the national, social, and economic conditions of Poland before WWI. Its definition of 'Poland' extends far beyond historical borders, sparking political controversy. The main maps use a uniform scale and are technically well-executed, accompanied by multilingual texts. The ethnographic maps using isarithmic methods and the agricultural-economic maps are of particular methodological value, though the political tendencies in the text require critical examination.
