Atlas of Australian Resources
By Konrad Frenzel; Anne F. T. Bauer; T. W. Plumb
Summary
The June 1959 preface introduces the Atlas of Australian Resources, Australia’s first national resources atlas, and reports its publication progress. The atlas comprises 30 sheets containing 82 maps, each sheet accompanied by a commentary booklet, covering physical resources, industries, population, and services. Twenty-five sheets use a scale of 1:6,000,000. Compilation began in 1951; 25 sheets had appeared by 1958, with the final five expected in 1960. Some proposed topics were omitted because information was unavailable or unsuitable for cartographic presentation.
