Reports of ICA Commissions: Atlases

Summary

At the Beijing workshop on borderlands modelling, held 5–6 December 2013, Atlas Commission chair Peter Jordan welcomed participants and led a cartographic session; attendees advocated multidisciplinary use of cartography, geoinformatics, GIS and remote sensing. The Early Warning and Crisis Management Commission reported presentations and workshops in Budapest, Kaifeng, Kuala Lumpur, Wuhan and Novosibirsk, and contributions to The Value of Geoinformation for Disaster and Risk Management. Malaysian discussions addressed vulnerable groups, geospatial infrastructure and European programmes, with a future commission meeting there proposed.
