Report of the working group on maps of water resources in the national and regional complex atlases

Summary

Following presentation of a preliminary programme in Paris in 1966, the IGU working group analysed more than 100 national atlases and recommended a standardized water-resources section comprising five maps: surface water, groundwater, water use and consumption, present economic water balance, and future economic water balance. It allowed supplementary country-specific maps and reported that standard legends had been developed from materials on mountainous Armenia.
