Présentation de l’Atlas du Survey National

Summary

This article presents the Atlas of the National Survey (Atlas du Survey National), published by the Administration of Urban Planning of the Ministry of Public Works as a preparatory survey for Belgian territorial planning. The author, serving as Special Commissioner for the National Survey, explains the atlas's objectives, methodology, and its complementary relationship with the Atlas of Belgium. Since its inception in 1954, the atlas has comprised 60 colored plates at a scale of 1:1,000,000, mostly based on municipal maps, accompanied by explanatory notes and commentaries. The article also describes the acquisition procedure and ongoing negotiations with the Ministry of Education for distributing copies to educational institutions.
