Summary

At the 21st International Geographical Congress (New Delhi, 1968), the Commission on National Atlases reported satisfactory progress. Members showed sheets in press for the Spanish and United States national atlases and described the 1967 Soviet and Japanese atlases, India's national atlas, French regional atlases and the Ukrainian volume. Rado argued that national and regional atlases complement each other and cannot substitute for one another. The Commission urged standardizing representation of similar phenomena between countries, assigned Beaujeu-Garnier commercial phenomena, and planned an inter-Congress meeting in Madrid, 1970.
