Commission on National Atlases

Summary

The Commission reviewed proceedings from its first Swedish meeting, national atlas reports, and technical papers on automated production, geocoding, geographic information systems, and electronic atlases. It planned to distribute the edited proceedings in January 1990 and prepare a final report offering guidance on the transition from traditional to information-technology-based atlases, with a draft due at the 1991 ICA conference in Bournemouth. Its next meeting was scheduled for 8–12 August 1990 in Beijing.
