Commission on National and Regional Atlases

Summary

At its Leipzig meeting on 23–30 September 1974, the Commission heard papers on national-atlas issues and atlas projects in several European countries, including the German Democratic Republic’s atlas then in production with more than 100 maps. It discussed expanding environmental, regional, and urban mapping; assisting developing countries with atlas preparation; and encouraging cross-border atlas cooperation. The next meeting was planned for Yerevan in July 1976.
