Summary

This article reviews the second series of the Atlas of Australian Resources, published progressively by the Department of National Development since 1962. Building upon the first edition of 1960, the revised atlas aims to update and deepen spatial understanding of Australia's physical and economic landscapes. Ten map sheets have been reissued, among which three—Landforms, Climate, and Land Use—are entirely new. Designed as general reference maps, they not only depict the current economic geography of Australia but also reveal the spatial distribution of natural and economic conditions, serving as a fundamental resource for regional research and planning.
