Book Review and Introduction: Geomorphological Map of Poland

Summary

This review introduces the geomorphological map of Poland (Mapa Geomorfologiczna Polski, scale 1:2,000,000), published as part of the Atlas Polski (1953–1956). Compiled in response to national land survey needs, the map classifies terrain into 27 genetic types under two broad categories: accumulation and erosion. It highlights the sequential influence of Scandinavian glaciations (Mindel, Riss, Würm) on Poland's landforms.
