Summary

Meeting in Moscow on 11–21 August 1958, the IGU Commission on National Atlases reviewed national atlas projects and completed map sheets, and discussed atlas purposes, content, improvement, and work plans. Its resolution advocated greater standardization for comparative research and proposed monographic studies, a bibliographic centre, national advisory work, and a permanent secretariat. Chairman Prof. Salischtschew was asked to submit a summary report to the Stockholm congress.
