Summary

This article reports on the completion of the new National Atlas of Canada by the Canadian Department of Mines and Technical Surveys. The atlas comprises 110 map sheets with 450 inset maps, providing comprehensive coverage of Canada's historical, economic, sociological, cultural, and political development, serving as a unique reference on the country and its regions. It is bound in a loose-leaf format for easy updates, with a French edition planned. The article also documents the activities of the German Cartographic Society's Berlin chapter from 1958 to 1959, including a general meeting, lectures on Iceland cartography, the Berlin Atlas, official map series, and a visit to the Ullstein printing house.
