Summary

This report outlines the scope, organization, and publication plan of the Atlas of Switzerland, published by the Swiss Federal Topographic Service and coordinated by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich. The atlas brings together physical geography, history, population, settlements, economic activities, transport, and regional planning. The completed work is planned to comprise 86 double-page plates containing more than 300 coloured maps, principally at 1:500,000, issued in nine instalments. The first two instalments appeared in spring 1965 and summer 1966.
