Summary

The publication of this bibliographic index of the works of Soviet cartographer K. A. Salishchev—Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and professor at Moscow University—was timed to mark his 75th birthday in 1980. The works of this eminent Soviet cartographer, collected and arranged chronologically, reflect the principal stages in the formation and development of cartographic science and demonstrate his major contribution to the advancement of cartographic production. The articles, papers, books, and textbooks included in the bibliography make it possible to trace the emergence and dissemination of many creative ideas, the formation of new fields of research, the growing prestige of the scientific cartographic community, and efforts to unite cartographers from different countries in addressing progressive and pressing scientific problems.
