Ein Bestseller · 2010
This is an academic book review of the Luxemburg-Atlas, published in late 2009. Edited by seven scholars, the atlas comprises 95 thematic articles (46 in German, 49 in French) organized into five sections: history, cities and projects, nature and environment, economy and mobility, and society and culture. The review highlights the atlas's innovative approach of combining maps with textual analysis to present the spatial and social complexity of Luxembourg, praising its original cartography. However, the author also raises critical points, including outdated data in some contributions, insufficient map annotations, and incomplete coverage of certain topics. Overall, the review deems the atlas an outstanding reference work that demonstrates the value of geography in regional studies, noting its long-standing position at the top of local bestseller lists.
