Ulrich Kriesche · 1944
Kriesche describes the 1910/11 second edition of the Atlas of Finland as substantially improved, citing its more finely differentiated elevation bands, which show relief in greater detail than the 1899 edition. He notes that many elevations, especially in northern Finland, still could only be given approximately in 1910.
Juan Benito Arranz · 1960
Arranz describes the 1910 second edition of the Atlas of Finland as revised and enlarged. He identifies fuller coverage of the physical environment, including new maps of oceanography, glaciation, tectonics, swamps and peatlands; the addition of political geography through a diagram of the 1909 national Diet elections; improved cartographic representation; and updated, more detailed maps based on new scientific data.
Pentti Yli-Jokipii · 1986
In this comparative survey of Finnish thematic atlases, the 1910 Atlas of Finland is one of the four editions subjected to the same quantitative analysis of illustrations, topics, cartographic design, scales, areal units, dates and methods. The text also cites map 47:5 of the 1910 atlas for Bureus's 1626 map of Finland.
